Danny Marino, 15, West Cornwall, CT In 2007 Danny was the alternate angler for Team USA 1 and looks forward to fishing in Danny is a true outdoorsman; he is always in pursuit of fish or game. When he isn’t fishing, he can be found tying flies, shooting his bow, or out scouting. Most summers he can be found on the flats of Cape Canaveral, Florida fishing for reds or traveling out west with his family fishing the blue ribbon rivers. “Being home schooled allows me time to complete my school work and have lots of time for all the other things I am interested in, like hunting and fishing,” explains Dan. Danny enjoyed being the alternate for the team this year. He worked hard tying flies for his teammates, and looks forward to next year. |

Weston Reynolds, 17, Harrisonburg, VA Weston is a junior in high school in Harrisonburg, VA. He has been fly fishing since he was eight years old. He spends his summers in the Greater Yellowstone area and has grown up fishing the waters of Idaho, Wyoming and Montana. Weston is an accomplished fly tier and also enjoys photography. He is the news editor of his school paper, and is active in theater. In 2006, Weston finished 14th in the individual competition of the FIPS Mouche World Youth Fly Fishing Championship in Portugal. In the 2007 competition in State College, PA, Weston won his 5th session on the Little Juniata River by 11 fish, helping the team to a solid 4th place finish. In the summer he works at Mike Lawson’s Henry’s Fork Anglers fly shop in Island Park, ID. His fishing buddies like to tease him for being “Mr. July” in the 2007 Trout Unlimited Fishing Calendar.

Matt Rose, 17, Tampa Bay, FL Matt was a member of the 2007 TEAM USA 2 that competed in the FIPS Mouche World Youth Fly Fishing Tournament in State College, PA, placed a respectable 27th in his first competition. |

Kyle Winey: 16, Mifflintown, PA Matt comes from a fly-fishing family where he picked up the sport from his grandfathers, his father and an uncle at an early age. It started as a way to spend time with family and grew into an all-consuming passion. As a Mifflintown native, he loves the limestone streams of central Pennsylvania for the wild brown trout. Kyle was a member of the 2007 Team USA 2 team that competed in the World Championship in State College, PA and looks forward to this year’s Portugal contest.

Wes Congdon: 18, Dundaff, PA--Team Alternate Wes just completed his freshman year at Penn State University, studying civil engineering. He was a member of Team USA 2 in 2007. Wes is an avid fly-tier who won the PA Youth Fly Tying Competition in 2004 and 2005

Darren Schmoke: 17, Allport, PA Darren learned to fly fish with his father and grandfather on the streams of central PA. Darren was a member of the USA 2 team in 2007 for the FIPS Mouche World Championship in State College, PA. He is an avid outdoorsman, who loves to deer hunt when he’s not on the stream. |

Nick DeNardo, 16, Pittsburgh, PA Nick began his fishing career at age 4 and first put a fly rod in his hand when he was 8 years old. He honed his skills on the mountain streams and lakes around his family cabin in Somerset, PA. An avid fly-tier, Nick loves to fish the waters of the Western states and has wet a line in Colorado, Alaska, Montana, California, Wyoming, Oregon, and Arizona. When he’s not on the water, he can be found in the woods going after big game and waterfowl. Nick is an honor student, a high school class officer and an officer of the Future Business Leaders of America Club. Peter Sheetz, 15, Mount Joy, PA Peter has been fly fishing since he was 7 years old. He was a member of Team USA 2 in 2007 and was selected as part of the Development Team for 2008. Peter is fan of fresh and salt water, trading time between the limestoners of Central PA and trips to Cape Cod, Massachusetts where he loves going for stripers and blue fish with his Dad. He also enjoys hunting for deer, waterfowl, and trapping small game. |

Will Travis: 15, Dana Point, CA Will learned to fly fish with his grandfather from the age of 8. Living near the ocean, Will fishes saltwater most of the time.
