Team USA Selects 2009 Competition Team

The USA Youth Fly Fishing Team held a successful National tryout and clinic on Fishing Creek at the Sieg Conference Center  in Lamar, PA. on May 8 through the 10th with 33 kids in attendance from across the United States.  The  members of the traveling team are:

President John Ford awards Certificate of Achievement to a Competitor

TEAM USA TAKES 4TH PLACE IN PORTUGAL
Narrowly misses Bronze Medal in the 2008 FIPS-Mouche World Youth Fly Fishing Championship.

Danny Marino led Team USA in 8TH place, an impressive finish in his first competitive outing. Matt Rose (12th ), Caleb Boyle (15th ), and Weston Reynolds (16th ) all turned in strong performances as well.

TEAM USA TAKES 6TH PLACE IN AMERICA CUP - COLORADO

The US Youth Flyfishing Team finished sixth among all competitors at the America Cup Tournament held in Colorado. Competing against 11 other, generally older teams. The top team performer was Matthew Rose who finished 20th. Peter Sheetz was 26th, Darren Schmoke 27th, Wesley Cogdon 28, and Caleb Boyle 29th. Loren Williams, our Assistant Coach finished fourth in the competition

Team USA Announces August Tryouts in Montana for the 2010 Team.
The USA Youth Flyfishing Team, Inc will hold the second tryout on the Stillwater River in Montana, August 7, 8, and 9.  This will be the first of two tryouts for the 2010 team.  The space for this tryout is limited and, after applying travel arrangements should be made only after acceptance.
